Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Gloves: Always wear the provided gloves to protect against sharp objects and contamination.
- Visibility: Ensure you're wearing bright or reflective clothing so you are easily seen by others.
Hygiene Protocol:
- Face Touching: Avoid touching your face while handling waste to reduce the risk of infection.
- Hand Sanitization: Use hand sanitizer frequently, and always before eating, drinking, or after removing gloves.
- Cuts and Wounds: Cover any open skin areas with waterproof plasters before starting.
Handling Waste:
- Sharp Objects: Use a trash picker for sharp items and never use your hands.
- Hazardous Waste: Do not touch! Mark the area and alert your supervisor for safe removal.
- Lifting: Bend your knees and keep your back straight when picking up heavy items. Ask for assistance if needed.
Proper Disposal:
- Sorting: Follow the festival's waste-sorting guidelines for recyclables, compostables, and landfill.
- Bagging Trash: Do not overfill bags. Securely tie them to prevent spillage.
- Heavy Loads: Work in pairs when carrying heavy or bulky items.
Emergency Procedures:
- First Aid: Know the location of first aid stations and how to contact medical staff.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to your supervisor or event staff.
